Liuzhi being CEO of BMW China Promotes Localization Strategy

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai, Feb 29 )— BMW China announced recently that Liuzhi would take the seat of Ivan Koh to be CEO of BMW China from April 1 of 2016.

Liuzhi will be the first Chinese to be CEO of BMW China, indicating that BMW China is dedicated to make more and more local and young employees take important positions.

Liuzhi joined BMW China in 2008. Then he has worked as managers in many departments including product management, distribution network development and sales. Since 2013, he has served as vice president of the southern district of BMW China and vice president of sales of BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., LTD. Now Liuzhi being CEO of BMW China will help BMW further strengthen its localization strategy.

In Chinese auto market, new consumption trends and technology innovation are not only creating new business opportunities, but also pose challenges to the existing business model.

"We will continue to develop localization strategy by expanding local talent reserves and increasing their work experience. We will place more local employees in important positions in order to promote the development of our business in the new market environment. I'm very pleased to see that Liuzhi will work as president of BMW China, "said Olaf Kastner, president and CEO of BMW in Greater China Region.

In 2015, the sales of BMW totaled 463,736 units in the mainland of China, increasing by 1.7% from a year earlier. With more and more young and local employees working as managers,BMW China hopes to achieve a greater breakthrough in the Chinese auto market.
